WAVES

Like Thermal Physics, this is a topic which tends to be fairly straightforward at school level, but there are still a few things to be wary of, and some fun to be had:

Standing waves: overtones and harmonics (and why standing waves in tubes aren't as simple as you might think)

Formulas for calculating the speed of sound

Water waves - transverse or longitudinal? (and why refraction is so difficult to show in a ripple tank)

JUST FOR FUN: PLAYING TRICKS ON YOUR EYES

​

This is a bit of an old classic, the old-fashioned version of which involved staring at colour-inverted pictures on paper. This uses powerpoint to achieve the same end a bit more slickly with some flags, then goes into an even more impressively weird effect which makes a black and white photo look temporarily like it's in colour:
