COMBINING THE GAS LAWS

Most textbooks take care to bring out Boyle's, Charles' and Amonton's Laws separately, often with a detour via Absolute Zero, but then combine them rather swiftly into the combined gas equation (pV/T = constant), sometimes by just saying 'these three laws can be combined to give...' without making it terribly mathematically clear how. Whilst stronger mathematical thinkers may well be able to simply see that it must be true, here's a way of making it rather more clear for those who aren't as lucky:
