CHANGING WEIGHT BY TRAVELLING

What with the Earth being the shape it is, and rotating as well, an object's weight changes if it moves from the equator to the poles. You might assume that the effect is minimal - even unmeasurable by normal methods - but in fact it's not. This worksheet takes the example of an 80kg person and guides pupils through calculations of the size of the various effects:
